Bias Study: The Backfire Effect

If you search for this on Wikipedia, you’ll get re-directed to Confirmation bias.

However the Backfire effect is the name for the effect when a person finds contradicting evidence and that makes them cling harder to the original belief.

We’ve all seen this in people. I’d argue that you could employ a structured analytic technique to battle this bias, such as ACH.
