Bias Study: The Barnum Effect

This is the latest post in the Bias study.

The Barnum effect is where individuals give a high accuracy rating to description of their personality that is supposedly tailored specifically to them. In fact these things are vague and general enough to apply to a wide range of people.

This effect is often exploited by conmen and those trying to pass themselves off as psychic or some kind of medium.
